Here's the link to the old Livejournal, Blackswanelder. Just a little bit of history repeating.

The Big Move

I've finally gotten a paid LJ account, and shifted all friends over that. I'm going to abandon Blackswanelder and switch to my primary handle, SallyDammerung. So if you're still interested in my yammering, please add that name to your friends list. I'm keeping Blackswanelder, since I've got a fuckload of old entries on there. It's pretty much exactly the same as Blackswanelder- fuschia vendetta, librarian themed, the works. But it'll be fun to practice CSS. So yeah. Do me a favor and look to Sally.

What the hell did I buy from Ohio? I don't think I know anyone in Akron... I'm confused now.

There's some damn interesting bird behavior going on lately. Several birds that I don't usually see around here have been around, and have been braver than usual. The hummingbird I saw yesterday zipped up to my classroom window this morning, which is odd, because there aren't any flowers up here on the third floor. A tiny little bird (some sort of finch) hopped around staring at me today. I gave him a little bit of pita bread, but he didn't seem to want it. Maybe he's a non-pita eating bird. There was a pair of birds yesterday, buff colored, the male with a little topknot, eating berries off a tree. There's a hawk that lives around here, but I haven't seen him this semester (he, or possibly she, would pick off the occasional squirrel).

It's always important to pay attention when birds start getting quirky. I'm not so worried right now- it's around migrating south time- but they are being awfully friendly. The hummingbird in particular is an odd occurrence. The question is: What are they trying to say? I haven't read tarot in months. Maybe I need to check my messages.

Yup- looked it up. The hummingbird is a messenger, which means I have to check my metaphysical voicemail. All indicators point to good news, but if there's something I need to do, I need to know about it.

So as was mentioned in Jacky-boy's journal, discussion has of late occurred about spawning, and the general consensus between the two of us is that having kids would be better than not having kids.

Oh, this woman absolutely rocks my socks. She found out her fiance was cheating on her, so she called the wedding off and turned reception into a charity benefit. Remind me to try and think of her next time I'm tempted to feel sorry for myself.

INTP

You scored 80% introversion, 92% intuition, 71% thinking, and 42% judging!

ABOUT THE TEST

This personality test is heavily based on the Kiersey Sorter. In essence, it measures your personality across four variables: Introversion-Extraversion, Intuition-Sensing, Thinking-Feeling and Judging-Percieving. There are both positive and negative attributes to each of the traits.

Introversion-Extraversion: Generally, people who score high on "introversion" are reserved, quiet people who keep to themselves whereas people who score low on "introversion" are outgoing, friendly people who are extraverts.

Intuition-Sensing:
People who score high on "intuition" are guided by gut instinct, they go on intuition as opposed to people who score low on this trait, who prefer to rely on established fact and their senses, rather than their own belief.

Thinking-Feeling: People with high scores on "thinking" rely more on their head to make decisions, whereas people who score low on "thinking" rely more on their heart to guide them. (Note: this has no bearing on a person's intelligence level; it merely refers to the way in which they make desicions.)

Judging-Percieving: People who score high "judging" are firm, decisisive people, whereas people who score low on this trait are flexible, accomodating people.

I know most people, if not all, on my Friendslist don't know from/care from Death Note, but this is a bitchin' quiz. I am apparently very firmly L, and firmly an INTP.

Which Neon Genesis Evangelion Character Are You?

You are Gendo Ikari, you have a plan for most things, and seek it ruthlessly. Losing your wife to a machine, abandoning you son, killing those in you're way is your style. You don't want to feel pain so you close your self off to the world. Try and be a little nicer to others, in the end you might just get it right.
Take this quiz!

Bah- I'm not Gendo, I'm Kaworu. But that wasn't an option, so I guess I'll take Gendo. I'm sure I'll fuck up my kids too.

In any old case. Today was one of the oddest days I've had in a while, in the one random random event after the other kinda way. Lots of birds, including a hummingbird. I found out I got a job in one of the libraries as a cataloging student assistant, which is absolutely bitchin'. I'd go into further detail, but right now, my sinuses feel like they're going to dribble out my ears.

School is fun. I love living in this town. I'm only about five minutes away from class by the free bus system.

Things are moving along at a fairly good clip, in my opinion, which means we're about three months behind in Jack's mind. We just bought the wedding rings today.

This one's going to be mine, six millimeters wide on my itty bitty size 4.5 finger.

This one's going to be Jack's, six millimeter's wide on this size 9.

This was as close as we could really come to yin and yang, but I like the way they go together. Titanium can't really be resized, so I reckon we can put links in between the rings we outgrow and make them into a chain to go around the Chrismukah shrub. I want to thank [info]sarcazm, as she was a huge help with advising us about the realities of jewelry. Seriously. You might be surprised what you don't know about metal.

Dude. Capybaras. I want them wild and free in my state, damn it. It's warm and humid enough. They could roam south for the winter. Just... I think it's what we need.

You know, never discount the potential for unexpected reactions. I got my last tetanus shot on Tuesday, and damned if it didn't fuck me up. I woke up Tuesday night with a monster fever and essentially slept through the next two days, which sucked ass, since we're moving. I'm still a bit pathetic, but at least I'm capable of being vertical again.

The move is scary, but I think we'll manage.

Seriously though, next time, we are hiring professionals. People skilled in the ways of moving couches and beds. People possessed of upper body strength less feeble than mine.

Behold, the t-shirt wishlist:

Edited and reposted 08/14/06-
The Devil Creature hoodie from Dead Zebra. This would emphasize the fact that I'm bad news.

The Angel Creature hoodie from the same. Because I am occasionally good news.

The Aerodynamically Curvaceous tee from Questionable Content.

The Books Rule tee from Scary-go-Round.

The "I am Your Secret Scary Friend" tee, also from SGR.

The Cthulu tee from MacHall.

The Australian Indoor-Rules Quidditch tee, also from MacHall.

The Twisp and Catsby tee from Penny Arcade.

The "Mister Period and the Bad Boys of Punctuation" ringer, also from PA.

The "I love Hentai" tee from ThinkGeek. Cause I do, you know.

The Dirty American Devil" tee, also from ThinkGeek. Orange is so my color.

The "Person of Alcohol" tee, yet again from ThinkGeek. Because tacky cultural tourism combined with references to alcohol is my kinda party.

The Major Teacup Tee.

The Google is Ruining Everything Tee. Dude. I HAVE TO HAVE THIS SHIRT. Fuckery, if only I wasn't so ridiculously po'.

The Okay to Be You Tee.

The Landline's Revenge tee. I presently have no landline but am getting HELL OF FRUSTRATED wheneve rI try to call home and my fucking internet phone refuses to bloodyring. I think I may have to add a cell to my plan to just sit here at home, sharing my minutes, perpetually plugged in.

The Leeroy Jenkins Academy shirt. I have no idea what it says because the zoom is crap, but I'd pretty much be willing to wear this sight unseen.

The Pillowfight tee from Threadless. PURCHASED!

The Squirrel shirt. PURCHASED! Dude. Squirrels are bad news.

The Communist Party Tee. PURCHASED! Because even if I have to give up the red and yellow in favor of the blue and silver, I can still have a visual pun.

And soon, John Allison, real boy, will be re-releasing the Eggbert tee. My eggbert tee went missing after the Spain trip, and I'm amped beyond words. I may buy two. PURCHASED! TWICE!

The Fast Supper Tee. PURCHASED!
The Captain Awesome Tee. PURCHASED!
The Russel! How's Yer Ma? Tee. PURCHASED!

Now,if for some reason, you decide that you absolutely have to make me less nude, I wear a children's large, a mens as small as they get, and a medium in a women's fitted tee or hoodie. Just, um... putting that out there.

The t-shirt collection is expanding well. I should do a gallery at some point.

Threadless's $10 back to school sale is going on right now. If you need to be less nude, I highly recommend getting your butt over there. They only do the ten dollar sale a few times a year, and stuff sells out fast.

It's killing me.

A la ka joinked from [info]indigosoulflow. It's a quotes meme. You go to this page and go through random quotes till you find five that reflect who you are or what you believe. Theoretically one should tag five friends upon posting, but meh.

Iget up every morning determined to both change the world and have onehell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.

I grow more nervous about the wedding. Yeep. It may be PMS partially, as I've been generally over emotional for the past couple days. Yeep nonetheless.

Today was neato. I saw this orange thing in the sky, and as I looked more closely, it turned out to be a man in a parachute. It wasn't really a controlled fall though- he was gliding. I could kind of make out this industrial fan at his back. My boss told me he sits in a lawnchair and zooms around like that. I have no idea how he takes off.

I also saw a young man today with two different colored eyes. He may be a fairy. I'm not sure yet. If people's kids start disappearing and getting replaced with extra mischievous doppelgangers, I'll know.

"There's nothing I could call this.
No architecture for the order of things.
When I sat and watched you sleeping,
before the trucks arrive,
boxed up your better life
I wrote you letters for a while.

Left to haunt this sad estate
In hollow walls and empty halls
When all I saw was
some doll that you'd abandoned.

So I crawled inside where the stitching held me tight
And hoped that you'd come back to find me sometime.

I hope that you'll forgive me for being so severe.
Your proximity was clouding my account of what was real here.
You're eight years old, I'm stuck inside the wall,
You always talk, but never hold me,
And I wish that you would ask me how I'm feeling,
There's so much I want to tell you about the way I'm disappearing
And so many years have past since that I left the house
I left a map to my new wall
You must have never found it.
And I heard that you got married
And I hope she helps you fall asleep these days...
...'cause I knew the ways, when you were eight.

You're not what I imagined you'd become when we were younger,
But I'm still in love with that one.

I've since found your parents' house and lived inside the walls,
And you don't ask about me when you call."

-The Prayers and Tears of Arthur Digby Sellers, "Lisa" (Approximate lyrics, as I hear them- they're probably wrong.)
